We survived our first full week of school! We have worked on school rules and procedures, and gotten some beginning assessments finished. I am happy to have so many students that improved their reading skills over the summer!
Here is what we will be working on this week:
- phonics: review of alphabet sounds and letter formation
- math: doubles plus one
- math: doubles and ten bonds (click here for a fun ten bond game)
- math: fact families
- math: adding 3 numbers
- social studies: choices and consequences
- reading comprehension: begin reading Snowshoe Hare
- writing: review thinking maps
We will be taking the STAR test on Tuesday. STAR test results will allow us to set AR goals for the first trimester. For an explanation of AR and how to find AR books, click here.
